(active series) The Bluebird of Happiness series includes large format, mixed-media (acrylic, chalk pastel, charcoal, graphite and wax crayon) series of paintings on canvas. Expanded notions of species sentience is intrinsic in this series. The female figure interacts with the dove (peace) in her human corporeal life as a lover, a mother, a deity and a violinist. This series also references a book entitled The Blue Bird for Children: The Wonderful Adventures of Tyltyl and Mytyl in Search of Happiness, originally published in 1911, which my mother read to my sister and I when we were children.
